United Broadcasting International Pty Ltd (UBI World TV) is the largest provider of non - English-language TV channels to Australia’s ethnically diverse population.

By selecting the best channels from around the world and delivering them direct to viewers’ homes via digital satellite, UBI World TV provides entertainment and information services to non-English speakers throughout Australia.

The company specialises in providing ethnic Australians with the highest rating and most respected TV channels from their homelands, showing news, current affairs, sport, drama series, movies and general entertainment in their own language.

"UBI World TV is the largest pay TV operator focussing totally on Australia’s diverse multicultural markets," says UBI World TV Chief Executive Officer Regina Boulos. "Our service is designed to meet the needs of migrants and multicultural people and provide a continuous link to their cultural heritage and country of origin, in the language of their choice. We have successfully launched channels in Arabic, Turkish, Spanish, Serbian, Macedonian and Greek, and we plan to launch more channels and in more languages in the coming months."

But it’s not just TV channels that UBI World TV offers. A strong level of customer support is also part of the service. An in-house multilingual customer care centre provides in-language customer service across all the different language services that UBI World TV offers.

One challenge for the broadcaster was to collect subscription revenue from the diverse cultural groups serviced. In looking for an accessible and efficient way to collect subscription payments, UBI World TV partnered with Australia Post’s bill payment service, Postbillpay.

UBI World TV customers can now use Postbillpay to pay over the counter at more than four thousand postal outlets throughout Australia.

"Postbillpay is the most effective bill payment method for both UBI World TV and our customers. The ability for customers to present their bill at any post office and have the payment processed automatically means the whole billing and collection process is far less labour intensive from our perspective. It’s also simple for customers to do," says UBI World TV’s head of customer operations Gavin Lipschitz.
